Monochrome Fusion Bistro

Wow what is this blogging about a day on the same day :O
Wow! That’s mainly because I wanted to upload pictures on Flickr to facilitate blogging then I just K.

So I met Don late evening for not lunch not dinner at Monochrome Fusion Bistro. He had motives being so bent on going to that rather new place. LOL.
Shared this snapper loin cha soba! Thought the soba was way too overcooked. Bonito flakes smelled damn good though!
The fish is so yummy!!!
He ordered a slice of black velvet cake.
Tastes like Oreos. I’m no fan of the whole red (now black) velvet thing really… There are so many nice flavours out there.

Right after leaving the place, we went for xiao long baos!
10 for $5.50 hell yeah!!!
Presentation < DTF
Taste and value > DTF ๐Ÿ˜€
Went to VivoCity and watched Cinderella spontaneously and omg stupid prince can’t even remember her face?
Chatted more over Carl’s Jr’s fries and then went home.

Ok, and here are the original non-square photos of yesterday’s post!!!

Lam Bee Restaurant:

Itacho Sushi:

By the way, I totally love tang hoon but I forgot about them while I was busy eating the other stuff then it disintegrated and I cri.

The Assembly Ground

New Udon Thai Food:
None of us ate liver so we swapped it out for more chicken!!!! Ch1ck3n 4eva \m/
The whole thing costed about $65 or so and Amanda’s mum insisted on paying despite Cheryl and I throwing money into Amanda’s bag -___- then kena caught -____- Thanks auntie ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Ok the end ๐Ÿ˜€

The Beginning of Schoollessness

Hello. Just sharing the recent stuff because I have been hibernating and I’m just trying to blog stuff before I spam Instagram in Japan and have to scroll more to find outdated Instagram pictures.

After the last paper, my group mates were finally free to go out together. Everyone except Keyang and me are super busy with leadership stuff or whatever the whole time. Even Keyang has friends to hang out with once in a while. And the whole time I’m just like “yes” to any of their “are you free”s and I realised I have turned down many notions of socialising because of school projects and also because many friends were then busy working.

Anyway look at everyone looking really happy because school’s out! Except me. I look like death.

Hazelnut and pistachio gelato! Finally tried these from Alfero and while it’s super smooth and rich, I didn’t think of it as highly as all my peers did because I really prefer some texture to my ice-creams/gelatos.

So the day after my last paper was CNY eve.
I was really sad because after the tiring semester I couldn’t hibernate yet. For a week.

Steamboat for reunion lunch!
That huge plate of taukee is obviously mine. Pity I didn’t finish the whole thing T____T If I remember correctly only half the plate was added into the pot.

Dinner that night was Domino’s pizza because I was craving for pizza terribly for a few days lol.

They have this new chicken thing so I tried this golden Mexican chicken. The concept is definitely bae because they replaced pizza dough with chicken, which is totally genius.
Except it was sooooo tiny!!! I know, it’s a side. But they really should consider making it a main because chicken.

Then the day after CNY, I went to Hat Yai as covered in my previous post.

I put on this Isshindo Honpo animal face pack I got from Tokyu Hands! Really pricey though… $15 for 2 sheets!! ๐Ÿ˜ฆ
I believe this is the first ever facial mask I’ve ever put on. Trying to resurrect my complexion but I think it’s too late.

I have never taken so many selfies on my own phone before. Usually I take 1 or 2, in the rare occasions that I do. When on others’ phones, the numbers can range from 30 to 400. So ya, don’t leave your phones unattended.

Ok backstory. I finally bought a FlashAir. It’s great that I can now post photos on Instagram with high DOF instantly. Ok that explains some pictures you see here. Sad thing is because I’m lazy and grab these pictures from Instagram, they’re all in squares and lower quality lol. Ok end of backstory.

I tried to look for a job. I’m terrible at it. Why???? Anyway, I didn’t get the job.
So when I went for the interview in the eastern side of Singapore, I had to eat something I haven’t tried.

Seng Yang once said there was this “best chicken rice” in MacPherson so of course I had lunch at this Lam Bee Restaurant.
I always check-in on Foursquare so I see tips too and apparently everyone thinks the char siew here is the bomb. Seng Yang never mentioned char siew at all by the way. So I added char siew la.

What the shit. The char siew here is so yummy!! It’s not tough/dry and has the awesome smoky taste. The chicken was not bad but not better than Wee Nam Kee though. So, don’t trust your friends, trust the Internet.
Then I had nothing to do, and no friends too. I wasn’t going to waste a trip in the east like that, going home right away. But it was really humid that day.

So I went to Changi Airport. Mostly for the aircon. I should’ve gone to Bedok instead on hindsight, since there are many yummy stuff there. Dammit.
Sat at the gallery of T2 and read a book then went for dinner. At Itacho Sushi. I thought I was looking for new stuff -___- but it’s ok.

Favourite must-order kani chawanmushi!

Ebi tempura handroll. Their handrolls are always so crisp. BAE.

Tako and inari. (I put these two on a plate myself) I was just hoping they’d serve all my sushi on a plate.

Tamago. They wouldn’t.

Aburi salmon. I asked for without mayonnaise but look! I ate it anyway because it was little. I’ve had them here before but what I’d do is eat it really fast before I taste anything horrid. The semi-raw fish already encourages 1-chew eating. I really gotta do something about this before going to Japan lol.

Bought my favourite cereal. If you’ve not eaten Post’s honey bunches with oats then please do. You’re welcome.

Saw these at FairPrice too. When I’m in Japan I will allow myself to splurge and indulge in strawberries. Just once this one time. Can’t wait T___T and also need lots of money to go repeatedly (dreaming) but I’m jobless remember.

I need about this much. Not dried cuttlefish. I need money. Then I can go travel the world ๐Ÿ˜€ (cries)

Was going around Orchard with Yuxuan before heading to Serangoon.

Lunched at Watami and set lunch prices are something I really miss!! I really ought to head out for lunch more often because dinner prices stink lol.

Gyuniku sukiyaki turned out way too filling and I couldn’t finish it. And dinner was only hours away.

I got lost in the wild on the way to the steamboat dinner.

I found my way. Very swaggy.

Steamboat after louhei! Funniest having a Muslim at a CNY dinner because one pot was to be kept Halal and the unfortunate gluttons there had to eat meat with a pork basket, in which we delivered pork to the other end of the table LOL.

Anyway, I brought these lukans to bainian. Then when they returned it to me, a bunch of us started to eat it. Because it was wrinkly and airy and everyone was curious. Is this the terrible future of CNY for the younger generations or what.

Then the next day was hopping around Singapore visiting. I forgot to bring oranges LOL.

The next day, Amanda was returning from Maldives!!!!!! Missed her so much ๐Ÿ™‚

Went to Hard Rock to look for Yuxuan before going to the airport together.
That’s where I blogged one third of the Hat Yai post. I was a total freeloader that day.
Used free Internet sitting in a free private office (business centre lol) in Yuxuan’s hoodie because it was really cold in there.

I paid for these awesome chicken wings at the Rock Bar. Really fat though. But yummy. Ate the whole plate till I nearly died. Then Yuxuan came and said she was dismissed early. I wanted to leave her some wings but it was 30 minutes ahead of time and it would’ve turned cold! Darn.
Then I shared a cab ride paid by Yuxuan to the airport and then drank tea (and was forced to eat some) (even after soloing a plate of wings) with Amanda’s family. Also got the cutest angpow ever! I don’t think I even said any gong xi fa cai to her mum because I was too surprised. We weren’t there to bainian. I’m sorry lol. Belated gong xi fa cai.

I tried to make cup udon and for the first time I couldn’t. The pictures wouldn’t even help me because they had microwaving instructions. I don’t have a microwave oven. How. So I freestyled and it turned out not very yummy T_T I can’t believe I’m saying this of JAS-marked food. They’re always yummy T_T why not this T_T

In the same week, I met Amanda again. Her mum too! Hahaha and Cheryl. There was supposed to be 3 others but they lame.

Mookata at New Udon Thai Food! I’ve not tried many mookata places around Singapore but I can say this is the best I’ve had. Don’t know how they marinate their chicken but OMG take me now! I mean I suggested this place when Amanda said she wanted mookata. Omg I miss this…

Amanda gave me Maldives sand and an anklet/bracelet/string thing ๐Ÿ˜€ I wanna go to Maldives too. Hearing her talk about snorkelling there is soooooo bae.

Then went to brunch with Hazel and Keyang at The Assembly Ground. I was late. I’m terrible. The last semester really destroyed me.

My brunch after the two finished. While at it, another Hazel joined us.

We shared truffle fries and it’s really good!!!! There are only a few places I find the truffle fries good and I haven’t stumble upon any since Au Chocolat but this has made it into my mental list ๐Ÿ˜€
They were trying to celebrate my birthday in advance. Under Keyang’s wallet was a pack of candles which stuck out like a sore thumb it was the first thing I spotted when I got there. The first Hazel snuck out and got a slice of tiramisu really neatly, at that I was surprised.
I don’t have a picture of it lol. Truth is, the tiramisu couldn’t compare to the one the second Hazel (Liem) made for me once. Honestly, she makes amazing tiramisu. Don’t know how to describe. It’s like a tiramisu benchmark. Hope she really opens a cafรฉ and issues me the “Platinum Casia card free food 4ever and even a special table” she promised me. She sent me this two-iPhone5-screen long birthday text and it was so nice ;___; It was so nice ;___; It was a digital hug plus many memories ;___; so nice ;_____; “Platinum Casia card free food 4ever and even a special table” oh my gosh!

Bought some mt wrap because they were 1-for-1 and finally reasonable. This is genius. Really.
Let me show you a video of it:

I love the parfait from Snaffles. But Lynette had to call me just as I was about to take a picture of it so it melted so much before I could. I have a fresh one on my camera but I didn’t use that. It will go into another post.

Went to Sentosa with Amanda and Lynette for dinner. That’s Amanda thinking she’s still in Maldives.

Dinner at Trapizza and they have changed somehow. They are now off my mental pizza list. By the way, the Pasta Fresca at Rochester is gone and I’m sad!

Lynette bought me the black tote when she was in London! She brought it in the huge paper carrier. Not entirely sure why but I think it has to do with a conversation when I was trying to guess which tote.

Birthday cake is Berry Berries from Flor Patisserie! Love their cakes a lot because the cream is never too heavy and their fruits are never covered with the jelly film thing.
Got a letter from JCSS days before and saw my N5 results that I checked online months ago lol and the day after my birthday was the day I could collect my certificate!!!

This is like a birthday present. Actually am appalled that I got A for all three sections although the scores are kinda meh. Anyway I should revise and study for N4/N3 or something.
Was out changing currency and collecting this before meeting Jiaen and Fiona and Nicole. I overslept 4 hours and was terribly late LOL given the errands I had to run before meeting them. Goddammit please revert.
They sort of coerced me into those room escape games. I mean it’s really fun online but paying $22 for a real life one is really a rip-off and they paid for me as a birthday gift. The props were really lame and we got all the keys anyway.

Dinner at Wala Wala and I don’t think I can ever be sick of this place.
Yuxuan is head over heels in love with 53A’s guitarist Alvin and that was the first time we heard him solo a song and omg the voice and the riffs and omg he followed me on Instagram and LOL Yuxuan was so envious. I can’t wait to wala again ๐Ÿ™‚
By the way, the chicken oregano pizza is yummy but I hadn’t known because I was blinded by the chicken wings. Also, they changed the menu and the dory chunks are gone!!!! ๐Ÿ˜ฆ But they have truffle fries now and while it’s not super bae, it suffices.

(over)Cooked spaghetti and tamagoyaki sausage. Going back to the kitchen after so long and I’m just like ?????? and I don’t think I want to cook again. That’s what I always feel after cooking and then even more when washing, but I will still cook sometime after.

Some day’s dinner at favouritest Ootoya.

Don’t know if I’ve mentioned because I haven’t blogged in so long but their chawanmushi is really so yummy now after they changed something – so smooth so sweet so better. Before that I used to consider ordering sets only when I am not eating a riced dish but now I have no choice but to order sets.

Musi nabe! Just a concoction of oishii ๐Ÿ˜€

Zenzai milk. I love everything I’ve eaten here omg.
Went to Jurong East to stroll because I was bored after dinner.

Went to take a cheese tart from Flor, which I was supposed to collect together with my cake but didn’t. Yum forever.

Went skating and ended up at Buona Vista. Fell down uphill. LOL.
Caught up with Marissa who was off work sick and had an unpleasant dinner there.

Met her again the next day when she was working because I went out with Joe and he forced me to buy him a birthday cupcake. PLUS COFFEE. Bitch.
I’m almost certain he suggested going out only because he wanted a gift, which I conveniently did not make for him yet. (SO I GOT HOME AND STARTED MAKING IT LA. My fingers hurt and it’s 2/3 done as of now.)
Anyway, Marissa gave me free coffee supposedly wastage lol.

Before that, I had Sunday Folks‘ pistachio cone and THEY CHANGED THEIR CONES!!! I’m so sad! ๐Ÿ˜ฆ It’s not as nice as it was before ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Then I went to SAM because there was a Kyototo workshop at Supermama with embroidery patches so I went to check it out.

Got this picture off their Facebook hahahaha I was blinded by the cuteness and spent $17 on making some earrings! That’s me ironing the patches on felt.

I was way too early so the place was relatively empty but when I was letting it dry, the whole place was so crowded!!

Had my dinner at Asanoya Bakery.

I was really sad after when I realised how little and unmeaty my day’s meals had been!

Anyway, this place is awesome. Really neat and pretty. Seems like a chill place to past time.

Melon pan is yum ๐Ÿ˜€

Think I got this loaf for $1 or $2. I’m not sure. All I know is that it’s so soft and yummy and it’s wholemeal! Can you imagine if it were white bread!!!!! I really wanna have some bread from here again. It’s just that I don’t know when I’ll have the mood to sit around with bread. I don’t know, maybe a book day.

Anyway, look at these giant grapes!

Ok the end. It’s 6am. No wonder I’m always oversleeping. Goodnight!!!!!!!!!

้พ็™ผ่ฑ†ๆฒ™้ค… Loong Fatt Tau Sar Piah & Rong Cheng Bak Kut Teh

Today I was so pissed off in the morning because I couldn’t board the bus TWICE because there were so many students going to school. At noon. You want to go to school, go early ok????
JK, I will forever be angry with anything that doesn’t go my way so…

After an hour (atrocious ain’t it), I managed to board the bus at a bus stop after the schools after changing buses (god I hate changing buses) (that’s why I don’t like taking the trains too) only to realise there was this constantly-empty and unpopular bus that actually takes me there too.
Missed three of that bus because I didn’t know I could take it. Goddammit right????? .___.
I alighted by chance because I recognised a distant landscape and thank god for my memory otherwise I’d be absolutely lost and so mad…
So going to Loong Fatt Tau Sar Piah is totally not difficult because
(๏พ‰โ—•ใƒฎโ—•)๏พ‰*:๏ฝฅ๏พŸโœง PAN ISLAND EXPRESSWAY
and then a little bit of walking ๐Ÿ˜€
The queue was ridiculous but that just meant piping hot tau sar piahs fresh from the oven! WORTH IT!!!!!
When I was done the queue was even longer than when I joined it .___.
IMG_4179 1
If this place ever closes down I would definitely be at a loss man ั‰(เฒฅะ”เฒฅั‰)
So I bought 30 salty tau sar piahs because I like the salty ones better.
10 for myself, 20 for the company as I was making my last visit there to collect my last cheque.
Reason I HAD to go through all these trouble (jk, tau sar piah is never trouble) is because Kellice, who lives in Balestier has no idea that 639 is the original one and I had told her to buy and bring it to work and I would treat the company.
I even gave her the coordinates so there was no way she could get it wrong but lo and behold she did .___.
And on the way to 639 just now, I saw that 603 (the one she bought) was just 4 units before 639.
I mean like, why settle for nice when you have NICER, right?
So ok, the address to ORIGINAL and YUMMY tau sar piah is:

้พ็™ผ่ฑ†ๆฒ™้ค… Loong Fatt Tau Sar Piah
639 Balestier Rd, Singapore 329922
Closed on Sundays
Monday – Saturday: 8:00AM to 4:30PM

$0.60 per piece

You guys are totally welcome (โœฟโ— โ€ฟโ— )

After visiting the office, it was awesome because a bunch of people was chirping that the tau sar piah is so yummy!
I know right????
Then I promptly left after finding directions to Thomson Road, because no one gave a shit about me, except for like a few, for like a few seconds. It’s k. (๏ธถ๏ธน๏ธบ) God bless.
Sat at Salted Caramel and freeloaded their water because I was so thirsty. I am sorry.
Chatted with Michelle, Yong Chin and Jun Yang for a few hours.

Had dinner at Rong Cheng (Sin Ming Road) Bak Kut Teh with Isabelle too!
I have no idea how to return though but I can try if I want, because I have a straight bus here ๐Ÿ˜€
It took me 30 minutes to get home too! See why I don’t like the MRT?
So this is high-Depth-of-Field bak kut teh at $7 which is quite pricey but totally okie dokie because it is YUMMY (๏ฝกโ—•โ€ฟโ—•๏ฝก)
I still haven’t gotten the hang of eating the pork though, it’s so difficult but I try my best.
And this is high-Depth-of-Field tau kee and it is also yummy ๐Ÿ˜€
They got lots of sides and whatnot too and splitting equally, it totaled to $10 per person which is super worth it ๐Ÿ˜€
Bringing my DSLR out today was such a good idea and I have 2 months to lug it around before school starts.
Gonna do it because neglecting my cameras is so not cool.
Have been so long since I used it and today I just couldn’t look into the viewfinder for long before I get irritated cos I was at an uncomfortable position LOL #weak

So on Saturday, it was National Day!!

So I was decked in a joke #ootd before I headed to RWS ๐Ÿ˜€

Everyone was so late and I haven’t had anything to eat all day so I went and got a pack of marshmallows from Muji and emptied the pack in 5 minutes or so LOL!

They came and so did my food HAHAHAHA
Hilary is naked HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I remembered Hard Rock Cafe‘s fish n chips to be amazing so I got them.
They weren’t yummy that day (โ•ฏ๏ธตโ•ฐ,) it was dry and stuff ๐Ÿ˜ฆ
Perhaps it’s because it’s not the same outlet but still…

All of us then ran to the theatre because the show was in 10 minutes.
Turns out RWS isn’t as strict on punctuality as MBS is…
The theatre was really small too so at Cat 2, it was the closest to a stage I have ever sat LOL!
Students get 30% off for this show too so it’s amazing ๐Ÿ˜€

It was the second national tour year 3/2/1 (damn chapalang?) cast, from US ๏ฝกโ—• โ€ฟ โ—•๏ฝก

Rock of Ages began like this and it was so cool I had to sneak a photo and it turned out quite shitty but that’s ok ๐Ÿ™‚
This is one of the funniest musical I have ever watched!!
What a nice turn of events too because I didn’t like the movie :/
I was laughing so much especially at Lonny and OMG Franz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Franz sings the best in my opinion, and he looks so cute, and he behaves cute, and when it isn’t his scene and he is a background person, he is so freaking cute doing cute stuff OMG and he dances like kawaii man.
SO KAWAII (โ—กโ€ฟโ—กโœฟ)
Tanner Hussar (Franz) was running away from the theatre the moment we stepped out of the toilet.
Thank god we didn’t loiter in there any longer because Lynette just RAN and stopped him LOLLLLLLLLL so we could get a photo YEAAAAAAAAAAA
I posted this and Tanner commented on my photo เฒฅโŒฃเฒฅ
(I also tweeted to him and he replied เฒฅโŒฃเฒฅ) (I’m on a roll เฒฅโŒฃเฒฅ)

I also edited the photo to make it better.
Flamboyant people are the best kind of people (โ—•โ€ฟโ—•โœฟ)

So we got some autographs and although Tanner wasn’t there that day, it’s ok (he replied me เฒฅโŒฃเฒฅ twice เฒฅโŒฃเฒฅ)

Amanda was crazy over Stacee Jaxx (Joshua Hobbs)! HAHAHAHAHA!!!
We waited outside the theatre until he came out so she could have a photo with him HAHAHAHAHA

Photo with Lonny (Justin Colombo) and half the time I was so amused with his t-shirts!! He also commented on my photo to give thanks! Told you I’m on a roll (โ—•โ€ฟ-)

Side track: Amanda tried to take a selfie and instead of pressing the shutter she clicked on her on-screen menu HAHAHA then Lynette laughed and disappeared from the photo HAHAHAHA ๐Ÿ˜€
Such a great day ๐Ÿ˜€

Anyway, can’t wait for Cavalia!!!! ๐Ÿ˜€
(This post was supposed to be posted earlier but when I got home I took a 20-minute nap and it became 2-hour)
(I’m sorry)
(But the post is here! *:๏ฝฅ๏พŸโœง๏ฝฅ๏พŸ:*โœง*:๏ฝฅ๏พŸโœง๏ฝฅ๏พŸ:*)

Hippopotamus Restaurant Grill

Ok, so I finished my report early and I guess I can blog about the week before I go to bed!

Thursday I went to The Ritz-Carlton to observe a set-up!
It ended much earlier than I was told so I decided to go to Parco for a Japanese dinner.
Who knows I found out Parco was closed after walking the whole length of the mall thinking I forgot where the entrance was! ๐Ÿ˜ฆ
So I went to Hippopotamus Restaurant Grill instead, someplace I have always wanted to try but have never because bitches be walking with me and go like oh Hippopotamus is expensive!!
So I naturally shun it unconsciously. But duh beef costs a lot everywhere!!!!!
To be honest, its price is like any other ordinary restaurant! -___-

Some bread… that was unusually tough but really yummy!
Service was quite good too!

And like something typical me would do, I entered a steakhouse and ordered grilled chicken with spices.
It was surprisingly good but it was really spicy and I had to drink so much water in between bites!
Very tender and flavourful!
And you know how usually steamed mixed vegetables that come with these sort of meals taste like unseasoned stones?
This one is so good! Tastes like soft vegetables with a very clean taste!

The next day, I was suddenly assigned so much responsibility at this black tie event OMG????

This time I had to follow the emcee around ALONE.
I foresaw what would go wrong and bingo!
As expected, I cannot hear words through the walkie-talkie clearly and always delayed relaying messages.
Bless my soul I don’t get scolded tomorrow at the meeting (who am I kidding) -___-
Third event in the first month and I was experiencing as much stress as I would before an exam.

Anyway, before the event, we were eating roasted meat standing lol…

Yesterday I woke up at 3pm and decided to cook myself some food because I haven’t in ages.

Tamagoyaki (cooked with depleting skills) and fake tako (if you can’t tell they’re chicken franks, I’m telling you now) and a pear!

And this afternoon I cooked myself some eggs.
I swear this #chefcasia thing is not gonna go far because I’m still cooking eggs only and it’s getting worse and worse???

Dinner part i was 10 sticks of Chai Ho satay, the least I’ve ever had at any one time here I think.
Dinner part ii was chilli crab and rice ๐Ÿ˜€

Snacked because I was still hungry.
Right now, I’m really really hungry but I can’t eat because I’ve brushed my teeth and the only thing I will sacrifice for is pizza, which I don’t have.

Tamoya Tuesdays weren’t forgotten!!

Had the same thing again because the racks were cleared off of what I really wanted to eat and I waited a little longer but it wasn’t showing up ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

When Margaret went to get more tempura, she managed to get the karaage for me!!!! ๐Ÿ˜€
Gonna try something new the next trip ๐Ÿ™‚
Really love this affordable udon which tastes great!
It’s like the udon equivalent of Yoshimaru Ramen!

Remember the kouign amann I bought? THREE of them?
They tastes terrible untoasted ๐Ÿ˜ฆ
Anyway, the first one was a dream as I toasted it, the second was completely disastrous as I was too lazy and left home with it so I couldn’t even change my mind, and the last was a slight improvement but I was so traumatised by that cold and soggy one I didn’t really enjoy it ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Anyway, I love sushi ๐Ÿ˜€
I just want to eat Japanese food 5 days a week at least!
Can’t wait for eating out with my relatives at a restaurant where reservations were made!
I shall remember to bring out my neglected camera for proper blogging!

Ok, that is all.
Anyway, I was listening to this Kyary Pamyu Pamyu mix while writing this post!

It’s awesome!!!! ๐Ÿ˜€
Gonna look for her album to buy now (that is if I can get it for cheap)(never forget that I am a broke person with huge wants)(sorry lor)!

Today’s the start of the 3rd week of working and so far I find it really fun albeit exhausting.
Partially considering it child labour too, because as interns we are paid little and the industry naturally has OTs more often than not…
I’m just really glad I have Hazel working with me or else I would still behave like a stranger to everyone in the office.
What’s more, my boss is awesome and also has a very cute son that Hazel is crazy over.

One hour into the job, I was thrown into doing real stuff without any easing in.
Which took me by surprise because I really just suck at having jobs.
Every single day I OTed (and more, because I usually come early) but it’s ok, I’m young!

Had dinner the first day at Tiong Bahru Boneless Hainanese Chicken Rice!
So yummy!!! And inexpensive too!!!
And the Indian (I’m not even sure because she speaks Mandarin too) lady provides really good service.
Had this twice so far and I’ll have them again should I crave chicken rice.

Attended an event on the second day!
Prada D&D at Capella!!

Think I’ll be taking a bunch of pictures looking like this because it’s funny (provided that Hazel is there to take pictures for me lol)…
So grand!!
During setup and shortly before the doors were opened, a napkin was on fire at a table and I couldn’t see very much because I’m myopic and stubborn to wear my spectacles which age me 10x and I cannot afford contact lenses because I eat too much to have disposable cash.
The event was thoroughly entertaining with most of the guests dressed up, and some of them very elaborately!
Managed to capture a random Cai Shen Ye (Money God?) taking food at the buffet spread in the dark!
My favourites were a cross-dressing Britney, a pharaoh (the GM of Prada I think), Moses, Wednesday Addams, Sun Wu Kong, and so many I forgot.
Got to see everyone who went up the stage up-close because I was stationed by it!
Was also really envious of everyone who won Prada and Miu Miu bags in the lucky draw!
Guys who won ladies handbags were the biggest frustration because YOU DON’T NEED IT WHEREAS I DO ๐Ÿ˜ฆ BUT I DON’T KNOW YOU SO YOU COULDN’T EVEN WANNA GIVE IT TO ME ๐Ÿ˜ฆ ๐Ÿ˜ฆ ๐Ÿ˜ฆ
The managers also smiled back at me whenever I saw them (I would smile even more if you gave me a Prada bag, really) and the whole crowd was generally entertaining!
Super fun!

Had some of the desserts after the event ๐Ÿ˜€

Celebrated Joe’s birthday in advance at Holland Village one evening.

Mediocre mushroom pasta from nydc because I was hungry and he wanted indoor seating for aircon. Dammit.
Then to 2am:dessertbar for desserts! ๐Ÿ˜€
Finally got the comfy sofa seats ๐Ÿ˜€

Had the Mediterranean and the chocolate tart.
Mediterranean was super yummy and kinda worth its $20 although nothing in this place was really reasonably priced at all.
It was a mixture of all sorts of textures and flavours!
Half the time I couldn’t identify whatever was in my mouth, partly because I wasn’t paying attention to the waiter giving us the descriptions of the dish because I really wanted to quickly snap a picture and dig in!
I would probably order this again when I return!
Chocolate tart was uninteresting compared to what I ordered…
The chocolate was rather rich though I thought it was really small a portion for the same price.

Then one day, Hazel and I discovered awesome xiao long baos for cheap!!!!!!

10 for $5.50 at Zhong Guo La Mian Xiao Long Bao (335 Smith St #02-135)
It’s a hawker and you’d best believe it’s good because I bothered to remember its unit!!!!!!!!!
It’s really delicious and on par to that of Din Tai Fung’s in my opinion.
For the lower price we are only giving up on aesthetics of the bao (DTF and its 18 folds that nobody really notices) and a nice atmosphere (because it’s a hawker and it’s passively dirty and all that).
Goddamn worth it, I tell you!!!!!!!!

So much so I had them for lunch again with some yong tau foo that was rather tasty just that I didn’t care enough to note where it’s from.

Took my first weekend to go shopping and for some me-time!
Bought only a skirt (on sale and my size and super nice) although I prepared to buy more…
Because everything I want is $100 or $200 or $300 or $500 or $100248921392742320573914021 ๐Ÿ˜ฆ
So far I’ve spent $400 on clothes so I wouldn’t be considered an eyesore at work as my usual getup is modelled after a sloppy heap of fabric fit for the Singapore climate and generally nobody likes how I dress except myself.
And $400 later, I am still in need of more clothes and more hangers.
But first, I’d need more money!
But then again, I wish to not touch any of my income from working to save for a travel because I want to go to Japan but then again it wouldn’t be enough T___T
(Also, I still do want to buy Berg’s Little Printer but I couldn’t fork out half a month’s pay for some novelty am I right?????)
After shopping I realised it was late and I was hungry and Takashimaya’s basement was packed with diners T_T and I quickly bought a chicken katsu from Romankan Yokohama and took a seat!

Have been wanting to try this for the longest time anyway!
Not bad, to be honest, but not fantastic either.

Sunday and had me some 20 cream puffs from Sunlife!
Wish they had more outlets because I love these cream puffs a lot and they are quite cheap!!!

Some chapalang dinner with Hazel (Bedok chwee kueh, some corner popiah, ahbeng fried carrot cake)

and of course the xiao long baos!
Have had them every other day or so because YUM!!!!

Chicken porridge for breakfast at Tiong Shian Porridge Centre because I was a little too early for work!
So yummy!!!! The porridge was pre-kiamed (salty? sorry I don’t even know what I wanna say) to perfection and it was the unplainest porridge I’ve ever had in my life!
Chicken was kinda fatty though I’m not complaining because chicken breast in porridge is lame (but yummy nonetheless).
Went out for lunch at Tamoya Udon!

Kake udon + kitsune + shiitake + kakiage!
Toppings are for you to add yourself so it’s great for people who hate spring onions (I love spring onions).
I wanna eat here again!!!!!!! T_____T
And hopefully when I go they don’t have empty tempura racks because the lunch crowd steal them all away from me.
Went to collect a parcel before going home because the Kumamon mitomein I bought has arrived!

While I love my stamp super much, I loved their service even more!!!!!

It’s a handwritten thank-you note on the invoice T_____T
I was so happy I spent an hour looking through the shop again hoping to get something but I didn’t find anything I needed.
So I hope you all could buy something from Kogyokudo ( because they are so damn nice and because the service is so enjoyable.

Went to work and after half a day of designing, I was finally tasked with saikang (labourous stuff)!!!!!!
Everyone generally hates it but I love it because it’s so fun?????

Look!!! I was folding church booklets for a wedding!!
I was gonna go to the wedding (I wanted to) but then I was kidnapped into another job that day ๐Ÿ˜ฆ so I volunteered to go to another event instead so as to make up for it ๐Ÿ˜ฆ
Had dinner at Ramen Keisuke Tonkotsu King

Got the most ordinary one with all the toppings except fungus!
Price was okay but although it’s some super raved ramen, I was utterly disappointed!
Chashu was so thick and untender, broth was too salty, ajitama was just ridiculous, and hygiene is really low in the sense that cutlery were kinda dirty and the place was small and cramped and ya…
Or maybe it’s just me because why would I think of this as such a bowl of disappointment whereas everyone else is like woo yay best ramen 5eva worship u likka god!

Bought 2 slices of Lim Chee Guan bakkwa home because I felt like eating it.
I shouldn’t have.
Because literally immediately I was bestowed a sore throat and subsequently a baby flu and a partially blocked nose.

Had the xiao long baos for lunch the next day…
There’s a really nice wanton mee but I have yet to get a picture of it!!!
I shall feature that soon!!
It was a really fun day at work because I had to run errands and it wasn’t just a cheque down the road this time!
I had to go to collect gowns and deliver them to the hotel/church for them to do a rehearsal!
So much fun!!! ๐Ÿ˜€
(Oh no I forgot to upload the picture of the ballroom setup which was very pretty and I’m to lazy to do it now!)

Herbal chicken because the wanton mee I wanted to eat was closed ๐Ÿ˜ฆ
Had dinner with Yong Chin and Jun Yang because everyone (ok, a handful of people) wanted to eat the xiao long baos that I just told you all about…

Also because Yong Chin wanted to pass me the birthday present a bunch of them shared for.
He was also an idiot because he added me into the group chat for discussing about it.

So Kukulakuku from the Mika for Swatch collection was sold out internationally because I only found out about it 2 months after its launch because apparently I’m not big enough a fan of Mika.
So I set out to buy the beautiful watch but it was sold out in stores everywhere and even after a staff contacted the Switzerland HQ, I couldn’t get hold of the watch ๐Ÿ˜ฆ
But my friends managed to buy it after all that.
God knows how they did it but thank them all and bless them all okay.
The only gripe is that it ticks so bloody loudly and I’m not one who can tolerate repetitive noises (except 10000000-hours nyan cat piano) very well.
But I’ll try! ๐Ÿ™‚

Went to the office on a Saturday to help out for something that took me away from my attending the grand wedding and meeting the minister I recently learnt about.
They really shouldn’t have needed us because the office is now full of nonsense (not solely my doings).
And this is only some.

Went to Goodwood Park Hotel for NOV D&D in the evening!
Had prata from Far East Plaza for dinner before the event and OMG THOSE PRATA WERE YUMMY!!!!
Event wasn’t as entertaining as Prada’s but at least I got to do more in helping out this time around.

Yesterday left me absolutely drained and I slept 5 times throughout the day, whenever I had the opportunity.

Had Chai Ho satay for dinner although I’m feeling unwell.
Having a headache right now too and couldn’t do any work the whole day and instead past time reading Cheesie’s blog because I haven’t done so in a long while.

Ok bye goodnight I’m gonna have a hard time waking up for work tomorrow dammit

Shin Kushiya Japanese Charcoal Grill

Ok so in my one week of holiday I had some food (but when do I not?!?!)…
On Thursday I had dinner at Shin Kushiya because the entrance was beckoning me to get closer and closer and I was mentally coerced to enter despite its rather expensive menu T_T

Garlic fried rice!
I don’t think I’ve paid so much for fried rice in my entire life LOL!!!
But at least it’s fragrant and yummy ^_^
Since they seemed to specialise in grilled stuff, I didn’t buy other things like oyakodon and udon and stuff that I really wanted…

Enoki maki, sake ponzu, yakitori, nikuzune shiitake! ๐Ÿ˜€ ($3 ~ $5 all skewers if you exclude foie gras or other crazy premium stuff)
What I was eating was really just gourmet Tori Q or Wadori ok…
Enoki maki (pork slices and enoki mushrooms) was alright; yummy whoever cooks it (read me) anyway… and for $3 I thought it’s a no-no since I very kindly blogged a how-to recently, which is a tiny tiny fraction of the costs for the same amount of enoki maki.
Sake ponzu (salmon and ponzu and grated daikon (I think)) is REALLY YUMMY!!! ๐Ÿ˜€
Very pupil-dilating and interesting and I just really like it ok?!?!!??! GO GET YOURSELF THAT BURST OF FLAVOUR! ๐Ÿ˜€
Yakitori (chicken. just chicken.) was ordinary… Just go to Tori Q if you want to eat this (to be honest Tori Q makes it more tender and OMG THAT GRAVY)!
Nikuzune shiitake (shiitake stuffed with minced chicken) is… GODDAMN BEAUTIFUL IN EVERY WAY?!??!?!?!?!?! ^____^
I love mushrooms and I love chickens and this together is just so beautiful!!!
So juicy and all that T____T
I think I’ll try to cook this one day when I’m free!! ๐Ÿ˜€

The previous weekend I was working with Lynette at the NATAS Fair and we spent a good amount of time loitering around the Japan NTO booths because I happen to love Japan a lot and Lynette kinda loves everything but she doesn’t have to yearn for travelling (like I do) because she does that twice a year without fail and to really nice places too T_T
Took a lot of brochures thinking I could do some fake travelling in my head (do I sound pathetic…?)
They were also handing out tons of cute plastic bags filled with brochures so yes, thank you Japan!
(I also put up a map of Japan above my bed LOL (not sure what for but it’s beautiful))

Okinawa and the really cutie pie memo pads ^____^

Nagoya and a goddamn generous gift of this beautiful pen and you can see how happy I am about having it in my possession because I took no less than 20 panoramas in an attempt to capture this!!!!

And in a (heavy) surprise bag with brochures I didn’t think much of while I was working, I found Hello Kitty magnets and chopsticks and notebooks and a keychain T_________T
I have a few more stuff I didn’t take pictures of but yea T____T I’m so happy T____T

Saw 2 Japanese men walking around dressed as One Piece’s Marine and Luffy!!!!
And we had to rob them of their costumes for a photo because I LOVE ONE PIECE (Lynette doesn’t know anything about One Piece and she thought I called her Luffy as a combination of “Lynette” and “Duffy” I nearly vomited blood)
I chose the Marine’s costume because it’s a legit legit Marine’s costume!!!!!!! ^______^

The next day I met with her again for a dinner because she wanted to pass me a birthday gift she has been hiding from me since her return from Japan (SEE WHAT I MEAN?????)

She got me the Duffy pouch I have always wanted T_T
Thank you x1000000 although it couldn’t even contain a cellphone <3333

We had truffle fries and even more fries at PS Cafe as if the truffle fries alone were not more than enough for two to share.
(We finished them all)
The waitress who took our order got a shock and we all couldn’t stop laughing HAHAHAHAHAHA

We parted ways after a double scoop from Awfully Chocolate.

Duck confit at Saveur with Joe some other day!
Not the best but is more than wonderful at its price ๐Ÿ˜€

So after the last paper (OMG TOURISM LAW HAS SCARRED MY LIFE), a whole bunch of us went to Modesto’s for lunch on Fiona because she has a whole stash of vouchers HAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Not my mushroom soup but I took a sip and didn’t think it was very good…

Portobello and prosciutto pizza!! ๐Ÿ˜€
I liked the portobello one more! ๐Ÿ˜€

Penne alla bolognese which was not too bad…

and vanilla gelato!! ๐Ÿ˜€
Then we went to some community club for karaoke HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
It’s just that it is so difficult to find people who listen to the types of songs I listen to to go karaoke with!
Like they were all singing Chinese songs and stuff but it’s ok HAHAHAHA (cos I was chanting along for fun).
After all, I got to solo Bohemian Rhapsody LOLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!
Then Fiona, Jia En, Yong Chin and I went to Tom Yum Kungfu for mookata although all of us were still super full!!
It was good but I thought the one at Golden Mile is way better!
Went to Oblong for desserts!

Baileys and lychee martini!
I love alcoholic desserts and everyone always slams me since I hate drinking alcohol???
Does no one hate the repulsive sting from drinking alcohol??????????
In desserts I get to taste it better anyway!

Some delicious chicken congee at Ghim Moh market from my broke days during study camp!
Study camp was a mixture of Starbucks, Costa Coffee and Smoothie King lol.

To date I have not tried anything other than Angel Food hahahahah!

Tried a grilled teriyaki chicken breast wrap and my is it delicious!! ๐Ÿ˜€
The thick end of the wrap tasted like roti prata (2-in-1 wraps OMG)!!!

Love the chicken pie from Costa Coffee!!

I also prefer their coffee to Starbucks’ because I find it more consistent and aromatic.

Their passionfruit tea was lovely too!

Some day we had beautiful Chai Ho satay โค

Also wasted my last bindi on a random day because it was already slightly damaged so yea… why not?

Bought a lot of Ringo Work ^_^

Yummy cookies ^_^

Yummy sake gohan at Yoshimaru Ramen Bar!

The mini teriyaki chicken burger was really yummy too!!! ๐Ÿ˜€

Moridakusan Hakata ramen on another day!
A lot of additional stuff I don’t really eat so yea, I wouldn’t buy this again! (Had this only on promotion)

The best crushed ice on earth from Jamaica Blue because a whole lot of my friends work there LOL such perks

Favourite pho ga at Ghim Moh market ^_____^ (a Vietnamese stall at the corner!! GO EAT!!!!!)

Ok that’s all and it’s like 4am now omg GOOD NIGHT!!! ๐Ÿ˜€

My Fair Lady & SSO Pops Concert: Spirited Away – The Music of Joe Hisaishi

Blogging while my hair dries lol ๐Ÿ™‚

So a day before Valentine’s Day I spent time with Yumiko watching My Fair Lady!

It’s probably a blessing we both like to watch musicals because without it I think we would cease to be friends or something what with her being busy forever and us never meeting up often like we intended to when we enrolled into the same course -___-
Really enjoyed My Fair Lady!! ๐Ÿ˜€
It was really funny; much funnier than the movie!
The funniest part was the Ascot scene, which I never laughed watching the movie twice but cannot contain when I saw it on stage!
The spotlights didn’t follow well and the backdrops had some problems though :/
But I’d gladly watch it again if I don’t have to pay (because I am broke and intend to watch Fat Pig and Grease)…

First row on the circle and while it wasn’t too bad, my back nearly broke with me hunching over the railing so I could see better and also to rest my head on the cold metal lol…

A terrible photo this dude took for us that was blur, slanted and without a second shot!

Was wearing the socks Yuxuan gave me because it was her birthday! ๐Ÿ˜€

I was early meeting her and spent an hour looking at the clouds go by.
Sitting by the museum only because it was a rare sight seeing healthy lotus in the pond hahahaha!
Had dinner at the food court because we were both scrimping…

Tried Ng Ah Sio Bak Kut Teh there because I’ve always wanted to try it but didn’t know where the two outlets were and it came as a surprise to see it at Marina Bay Sands!
The bak kut teh was pretty good both soup and pork ๐Ÿ˜€
Costed me $14.90 for the set I shouldn’t have gotten because the sides were only so-so.

Was reading tips on Foursquare and many people said the iced tea was good so we both got it and yes it is good!
Really rich and creamy but too filling after my big meal for me to finish.
Thought it would be a wonderful ice-cream if it were frozen ๐Ÿ˜€
On a side note, I bought 2 pints of Ben & Jerry’s because they were only $20 for 2!

Couch potato is really nice I think ๐Ÿ™‚

Yesterday a bunch of us went to Pasarbella to celebrate Hazel Tan’s birthday!

Got the pulled pork sandwich from SeaSalt Caribbean Deli because the pulled pork were super yummy when I had the yaroa last time.
However, the pulled pork were only freshly cooked so they were rather tough and I didn’t enjoy it very much and it was a huge portion too!
Gave up eating halfway because I was really sleepy and I fell asleep and missed the birthday celebration LOL .___.
I was really tired because I got home really late after the musical and had a revision lecture at 9.30am that day!!
Went home and took a nap when we left and for dinner I stir-fried some instant noodles that was kind of tasteless…

Well, at least I made instant noodles look somewhat good, no?

Just now I went with my aunt to watch the SSO Pops Concert: Spirited Away – The Music by Joe Hisaishi! ๐Ÿ˜€
Tickets were really reasonably priced and I LOVE LOVE LOVE Joe Hisaishi so when I found out about it in December I immediately made purchase, which was already a dangerous delay from when sales started in October!
There was literally zero advertisements about it and I only found out about the event when I was at SISTIC’s website looking for things to go to!
Was gonna pay for myself but my aunt offered to pay for me ^___^
It was a sellout too! Thank god I was kiasu and didn’t hesitate!
Would’ve gone alone if I had to too!
It is my first orchestra and it was nice ๐Ÿ™‚
Felt a little sleepy halfway through with the dimness of my surroundings and Joe Hisaishi’s music hahahaha…
Departures, Kiki’s Delivery Service, Summer and the encore’s One Summer’s Day and My Neighbour Totoro sounded better than the rest.
I hope Joe Hisaishi comes to Singapore before I die or he dies because I’d willingly pay maybe even $300 to watch him ๐Ÿ˜€

Studied with Fiona at a nearby Starbucks at noon…
Then I had dinner alone at Itacho Sushi before the concert!

Inarizushi and

roasted salmon sushi and tamago sushi and

tempura temaki and

crab meat chawanmushi and udon!
Shouldn’t have ordered the udon because it was so plain and filling!
I could’ve gotten 6 more sushis for the same price!
While Itacho Sushi has really yummy sushi at $1-$2, the bill always scares the shit out of me because I ordered noodles or other stuff…
(I’m so hungry right now and craving for these sushi and sigh… it’s 2am???)

Also had desserts from Awfully Chocolate because Amirah was working ๐Ÿ˜€

Earlier this week..

Wore Lazy Oaf with Lynette and Amanda!
Had dinner at Dulcet & Studio with a bunch of people after the research exam before celebrating Yuxuan’s birthday!

Classic black pig bolognese fettuccine which I’ve had before…
Still yummy but the pasta was a little overcooked.

Tea time cake because it was $2 and the cream puffs I wanted were sold out!
Then we went to Chupitos and they all drank and I sipped some and it’s true I hate alcohol!

On Monday, Daphne Khoo, from the first Singapore Idol, came to school to perform two of her new songs!
She’s so funny! I never knew!! Sings really well too, though my memory of Singapore Idol is super faint.
Apparently Gayle Nerva was there too but I only knew after Lynette told me who she was.

Just joined in for a photo although I didn’t desperately need/want it like Lynette…
There was a little bit of Gayle behind me in the photo but it was cropped to a square oops…

Last week…
Studied with Fiona and had dinner at La Petite Cuisine (omg they do not have a website so I can’t add a link… anyway, it’s at Serene Centre and Thomson too??)!

Really warm hot bread that nearly burned me while I was tearing it -___-
Was yummy though!

Very yummy confit de canard although its portion was quite small!
The chef was super cute!!! He kept walking around and chatting with customers.
He also stared at us taking pictures of our food and demanded to see it! HAHAHAHAHA!!
He said my picture is good because it is shiny HAHAHAHAHA ^____^

The chicken wraps I had at Charly T’s which I was craving for after studying the day before!

Went to Little Diner one day after school for dinner alone! ๐Ÿ˜€

Pan roasted salmon filet was a special that day so I had it since they took the effort to tell me about it.
I’d return to try the fish and chips I wanted to try!

Upgraded my fries to truffle fries at an extra charge ๐Ÿ˜ฆ
Very subtle truffle taste but I love handcut fries nonetheless!
Handcut fries are the best in my opinion because omg skin โค

Ok that's all for now… bye!
P.S. I hope my mother strikes the lottery so she can buy me a car

Food For Thought & Tiong Bahru

Was about to blog about yesterday but I found a set of pictures taken long ago because I forgot about them…

So once upon a time, after school, Nicole, Jia En, Fiona and I took a bus to the Botanic Gardens.
Only to find that where we were heading was at another gate and the weather was much too warm for walking (or breathing).
So we flagged down a taxi and took a ride from Botanic Gardens to Botanic Gardens HAHAHAHAHAHAHA ๐Ÿ˜€
We went to Food For Thought for lunch!

Butter toast and sunny side ups!
This was really yummy and, filling too!

I was quite stupid and ordered these mixed berries pancakes too because the above sounded quite small a portion.
How wrong I was because when they both came I was like, oh shit what should I eat first!?!?!?
I had the pancakes after and was too full to finish it…
It wasn’t all that great anyway so I made the right choice!
It with the cream thingy was not bad but, ugh just no please.

I’ll probably return next month for some giant breakfast because it looks really good!!!

Ok so yesterday I went out with Yuxuan!
We went to Tiong Bahru for the sole purpose of having some bak kut teh but guess what?!?!?!?!
It was in Mandarin, it was red and on the glass directly (looks like some auspicious phrase or something, honestly), it was small, it was surrounded by posters…
Without Yuxuan I might have sat around waiting for them to open or something ๐Ÿ˜ฆ
I really wanted some bak kut teh ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Before that, we went to Tiong Bahru Bakery because I missed my little kouign amann so much ^_^

YUM ๐Ÿ˜€

This is love in the form of carbohydrates.
Infinite thanks to Joe for introducing this disk to me!

Then we went to the market for Hwa Yuen Porridge!

Super love their porridge!!
I always have the shredded chicken one ๐Ÿ˜€
Then it poured ๐Ÿ˜ฆ and I took out my umbrella when we left…
So we crossed the road and… THE RAIN STOPPED.
God just wanted to wet my umbrella or something!??!?!

We then walked to Books Actually.

It is almost sad I was born in the wrong decade because I cannot fully attach myself to all these.
And the biggest bummer is that I didn’t grow up with music legends!
Thank god I found Queen and Styx and lots of old musicals thanks to YouTube yay!

When we got out it was raining again and I was like “wanna cab?” and she was like “ok” since someone just alighted at the shopfront.
So we went to Neil Road because at Books Actually we saw a advertisement about some exhibition at Math Paper Press and we had nothing to do.

The boxes are mighty cute I had to snap some pictures!

We walked to Ann Siang Road!!!
I think I’m now able to walk from Outram to Chinatown this is amazing!!!!
With more comfortable shoes and better weather another day, I might do it again ๐Ÿ˜€
Kki was closed and I wanted to die right there and then but we went to Shots
So the whole day I just went to places I’ve been to eat things I’ve had T_T
They had a cake and coffee set at $10 so I was like why not?

Vanilla latte ๐Ÿ˜€

Crumble top cheesecake
Tasted strange at first but it turned out good ๐Ÿ™‚
It was sad though, how they had only 2 cakes to choose from and the other being carrot cake…
So I was, in other words, coerced to get this cheesecake that was really helpful in description like “crumble top”
Yes, I can see that its top is crumbly but what does it taste like??
I still have no idea… just cheesecake.

After that we walked to some Chinatown building whatever its name is (they just -complex and -centre all the buildings and I give up)…
I bought 2 fat quarters and now I need some zippers to be able to sew up at least a pouch I had in mind…
Oh and I have an urge to buy a monogrammed and customised satchel from The Leather Satchel Co. so what the hell I need a job asap for 2 reasons…
One, because school requires me to gain 40 hours of experience of a job I might be tied to for about 3 months (oh god) and two, I need money for my material needs.
But $300 is not so bad compared to my other wants like the PS11 or the Alexa amongst a zillion others which would set me back by thousands which I don’t even have?!?!?!
Ugh life is hard…

Skinny Pizza & Antoinette

Hello! I am very hungry but I shall torture myself first to update the blog ๐Ÿ˜€

That day after camp prep I went to Skinny Pizza with Yong Chin, Fiona and Jue Yin! ๐Ÿ˜€

This is the portobello mushroom soup!!
So yummy!
There was this other weird sweet corn crab soup that I didn’t like because eee…

The English breakfast!
Looks super pretty because of the egg but now that I think of it I don’t really know what I ate…
It was nice though!!
Don’t really like this barely-there crust thing because I’d rather have a bunch of toppings on a plate for pizza isn’t pizza if it ain’t fattening.

Bolognese with mozzarella!
It’s like pasta in pizza form without the pasta or the pizza.
Or rather, sauce.
I tried the huge chunk of cheese and hahahahaha maybe it’s not cheese because it is weird
Omg I’m so hungry now…

Harissa prawns and truffle fries!!
Truffle fries was yummy duh and I didn’t eat the harissa prawns because it looked like chilli raped them…
I did however eat the mango that came with it, the one that Fiona thought was something else (forgot what it was) and picked up with her fingers hahahahahaha
Ok then we went to Spotlight and there were so many pretty cloths and I was yay I cannot sew, neither do I have a machine…

Then that day I went to quit my job, I went to Orchard to pass my time sheet to the office zzz
Then I went to Antoinette for lunch because I had little time to eat and I couldn’t think of anywhere else quick enough to not eat the exact same thing again.

The viennoiseries that came with the meal!
So good ๐Ÿ˜€

Antoinette’s breakfast!!!
The dish that made me fall in love with egg yolk back then ๐Ÿ˜€
But obviously I was thoroughly disappointed with the broken yolk because it’s my job to burst it, not yours ๐Ÿ˜ฆ
I need the school to sell meals like such daily because I don’t think I can ever get sick of it.

Then it was very hot… so mummy past Tiong Bahru and we were like let’s go eat ice kacang because seriously Singapore’s weather is so crazy…

Yay at Tian Tian Yuan Dessert House!!
Yummy ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€
Dinner was NeNe Chicken because mummy couldn’t get over hearing “nene pop” on the radio some time back and she keeps going on about it so ya finally we get to eat it!

Only like the glove and fries…
Their chicken was so tasteless and dry (I got the original one) and the table beside went “this is the same as KFC” and in my head I was like “no, your taste buds need fixing”…
The fries was really good though!
They should rename the shop NeNe Fries instead, really.
The glove is like the best concept ever!??!!??!
Hate getting my hands oily la and I think every restaurant should issue gloves upon request because it is brilliant.

Ok that’s all for now I am so hungry

Riders Cafe

Hello I spent a whole month sleeping that’s why the blog was not updated for that long…
Just kidding, I was very busy with camp preparations and then I just forgot how to find time to blog but I did take lots of pictures as usual…

Ok so some time long ago I went to Maison Kayser

Had this pear thingy that was really nice!!
Oh ya… this was on the day I went to sign some contract to get a job I grew to hate and even detest!
Early dinner was at The House of Robert Timms

For the first time I resisted ordering the same damn thing I always come back for!

French toasts with fresh fruits!!
Was really yummy but it was completely meatless omg how can I survive without meat!!!
Ummm and then…

Pistachio, tiramisu and that blue thing at il Gelato di Bruno ๐Ÿ˜€

On my birthday, I got lost.
I was to go to school for the very first camp prep T_T at 10am T_T
So I had to go for my birthday breakfast even earlier!
Spent an hour finding my way around a completely wrong area however close in the blistering heat until I gave up and flagged down a taxi.
That’s how difficult locating Riders Cafe is for a Singaporean idiot. ..

But it was all worth it!!!
I had a really sad table with bad light and bad view but my camera was amazing anyway and I could see a horse in the distance and another at closer range being cleaned or something!
Great place to chill with friends over brunch I suppose…

Vanilla latte!!!
(Or did I ordered it hazelnut…?)
It was really nice ๐Ÿ˜€

The Usual!
Entirely amazing in every way!!!

Every item was so delicious and perfectly done, if the plate was edible it’d be really yummy too for sure…
After that, I had no idea how to get out of the place because it is so inaccessible…
The waiter had to help me to call a taxi just so I could get out of the place…
I really want to return but I don’t know how until I have a car I can drive (I AM WAITING TO TAKE MY BTT)

Birthday cake 1 was from Yamazaki Boulangerie Chaude!!!!!!!

Strawberry cake!!!
i. Mummy ordered the wrong cake at first
ii. They didn’t give me the candle thingy so I couldn’t put candles on the cake
iii. I randomly arranged the candles anyway because what’s a birthday cake without candles
iv. No flame at all and the stove has to be involved in igniting the candles
v. Observe how the cake isn’t on a table
My life sucks la but still a whole lot better than many thank god

Ok so some other day, I had post-work lunch at Marchรฉ Bar & Bistro with Lynette and Yusof!

The chicken crepe thingy!
Was so yummy!!! Although it’s like green green one but it’s good!
But the side salad was a sponge in disguise. Don’t eat it is my advice.
After that we had dessert at Canelรฉ!

Fleur de sel and feuilletine macarons are my favourites (because I like to eat what I like and I don’t try other flavours)

And then watermelon and the blue thing from the abovementioned gelato shop ๐Ÿ˜€

Ok I’m gonna end here and continue on another post don’t ask me why I’m equally clueless
